You Cannot Earn Respect

Think about it.

You cannot earn respect. I could hear people at often times say that respect is earned but for me I see it in a different way. I beg to differ. You… We can’t earn respect, not even the slightest bit; this is for the reason that there is no absolute measure if a person should be respected or not. People have their own biases and basis whether a person can be respected or not; even the level at which a person regains respect. All of it still winds down to the person… You decide if you will respect a person and not what they do to gain it. It is better to give out respect than to treat respect as something personally owned and regulated. Respect all no matter who they, what they do (what they did) or where they came from. If you want to be respected by everyone, respect everyone as well. Do on to others what you want others to do unto you. If you want your brothers/sisters to respect you, respect them. If you want the rich/poor to respect you, respect them. If you want your parents to respect you, respect your parents. Jesus chose to respect all men even if He was hurt by them or did not return the respect He gave them. Jesus respected those who did not seem to deserve respect. Do it. Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.  I believe that respect is a right all men have since the day they were born. Come to think of it… Jesus died for us all
